Where It All Started
First Baptist Church Buda was founded in 1882, when the community was known as DuPre. The congregation has been in continual existence through all these years. In the early days, the church only met once a month with rotating pastors. Since the end of World War II, it has proudly been a full-time congregation with a number of excellent ministers preaching and teaching God’s Word.
Today, FBC Buda is still fully involved in the Buda community. We have classes for every age group and a loving, caring congregation that will include you like family. We can’t wait to worship with you!

NATIONAL AFFILIATION
SOUTHERN BAPTIST CONVENTION
SOUTHERN BAPTIST TEXAS CONVENTION
First Baptist Church Buda is a Southern Baptist church, meaning that we are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The Southern Baptist Convention has 16 million members who worship in more than 45,000 churches in the United States. But that is not the greatest thing about Southern Baptists. The greatest thing about Southern Baptists is their cooperative approach to missions and reaching our world with the Good News of Jesus Christ. Southern Baptists sponsor 5,000 missionaries serving the United States and it’s territories, Canada, and the Caribbean through the North American Mission Board, as well as sponsoring more than 5,000 foreign missionaries in 153 nations around the world through the International Mission Board. All of this is done through the Cooperative Program, a giving program that helps us, as a local church, sponsor all of these missionaries and other works all over the world. The SBC works with 1,175 local associations (ABA) and 42 state conventions (SBTC) sharing a common bond of basic Biblical beliefs and a commitment to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the entire world. A portion of our offerings are given to support the SBC. We also support the IMB through the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and North American Mission Board (NAMB) through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering.
