Wesley Clark – Associate Pastor/Student Minister

Wesley grew up being a Pastor’s son so he has lived all over the state of Texas. He is a graduate of Brock High School near Weatherford, TX and that is where his family resides today. He then went on to earn a Bachelor’s of Science degree with a Major in Communication and a Minor in Youth Ministry and Accounting from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX. Wesley then went onto Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary to earn a Master’s of Arts in Christian Education with a focus on Student Ministry.

Wesley has been in Youth Ministry for 11 years now and feels he is a “lifer” when it comes to Youth Ministry. He has a deep desire to see students grow in maturity in Christ, and with one another to form a firm community of believers. However, he believes this community should not just exist in the youth group but should be taken & bonded with the rest of the church. Wesley is also very passionate about forming future student leaders, giving them opportunities to teach and lead in various ministries in the church in hopes of one day preparing them for their future church after they graduate and their future family. His philosophy of ministry is very relationship oriented. He believes the best way to win a student to the Lord is through a personal investment in their lives, rubbing shoulders with them and doing life alongside them like Jesus did with His disciples.

In his free time, Wesley spends time with his best friend and beautiful wife–Amanda. They also have a two lovely boys named Judah and Elliott. Wesley enjoys Dr. Pepper, Big Red, Pizza, Starburst, reading, movies, video games, and all sports but definitely basketball! He loves the Texas Longhorns, San Antonio Spurs, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Cowboys. His favorite verse is “For I consider that our present sufferings won’t be worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed in us through Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:18closeRomans 8:18 Future Glory 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
